“Clos Pourri”

(moelleux)

The origin of the name of this small parcel in Savennières, not far from the Moulin de Beaupréau, is unknown. Was it linked to the degradation of the schist (referred to as "rotten" rock), or the ability to obtain noble "rot" from it? No one knows... In any case, the proximity of the Loire brings autumnal mists which, in excellent years, favours the development of botrytis.

The versatility of Chenin on the schists of Anjou Noir (sometimes dry, sometimes sweet) has fascinated for over a thousand years... Under the action of intense passerillage in 2022, our "Clos Pourri" parcel gave birth to a magnificent sweet wine, bursting with fruit and endowed with a salivating freshness.
